Donald Trump Jr. Helps Amplify Neo-Nazi on Twitter

Donald Trump Jr., helped to amplify the words of a neo-Nazi on Twitter, who was promoted by right-wing media organization, PragerU.

The original tweet from neo-Nazi Mark Collett highlighted an attack at an airport. PragerU’s account quote-tweeted Collett and bolstered the insinuation that there exists a deliberate media conspiracy to cover up violence against white people perpetuated by Black people. (While most crimes are intra-racial, conservative and far-right figures regularly complain that violence against white people is covered up). Right Wing Watch’s Jared Holt caught wind of the amplification when Trump Jr. shared the post:

Collett, once the subject of a documentary entitled “Young, Nazi, and Proud,” is the former Publicity Director and Youth Chair of the fascist British National Party. The British National party adheres to an ethno-nationalist ideology, espousing the belief that only white people should be full citizens of Great Britain. The party also promotes anti-LGBTQ beliefs, Holocaust denial, and other forms of antisemitism.

PragerU, a nonprofit founded by Dennis Prager and Allen Estrin, has produced content that disputes climate change, defends rape culture, and denies the existence of racism and the gender wage gap.

Donald Trump Jr.’s retweet is far from the only instance of Trump affiliates associating online with Nazi-adjacent accounts or promoting white nationalist ideologies. Trump himself once infamously retweeted a now-suspended account named @WhiteGenocideTM, a direct reference to the white supremacist conspiracy theory by the same name.
