Trump Invites QAnon Conspiracy Theorist to Attend RNC Acceptance Speech

On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, Marjorie Taylor Greene — the antisemitic and Islamophobic QAnon conspiracy theorist who refused to denounce a neo-Nazi and former KKK leader she met with — announced that she has been personally invited to attend Donald Trump’s official acceptance speech at the 2020 Republican National Convention:

Since winning her primary and becoming the Republican nominee in the general election race for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, Greene has been heralded as a “star” of the GOP. She has continued to post antisemitic conspiracy theories on Twitter, claiming “any Democrat running for prosecutor (or judge) is bankrolled and totally owned by George Soros.”

In an effort to distract from the flurry of accusations of antisemitism coming her way, Greene has also posted accusations of her own, targeting progressive Muslim women, and falsely claiming that the de-platforming of Laura Loomer — a white supremacist who happens to be Jewish — was antisemitic.

Trump and the Republican Party’s decision to embrace Greene reflects the degree to which open antisemitism, white supremacy, Islamophobia, and QAnon conspiracy theories are welcome within the Party.
