White House Twitter Account Shares Fear-Mongering Video of Chabad to Accuse Anti-Fascists of Planning Violence

One June 3, the White House twitter account retweeted a video falsely presenting preexisting anti-terrorism barriers at Chabad of Sherman Oaks as evidence of how “Antifa and professional anarchists are invading our communities, staging bricks and weapons to instigate violence.”

The Trump administration and Republican party have long engaged in deliberate efforts to use Jews and Jewish communities as a political tool to attack Democrats, progressive movements, and people of color.

Threatened by power and unprecedented public support for the Movement for Black Lives, the White House is seeking out any and every opportunity to demonize this popular uprising. In this case, that led the official White House twitter account to falsely imply that the Jewish community was being targeted for violence by anti-fascists.

After the Chabad posted on Facebook clarifying the purpose of the barriers, the White House took down its tweet and did not comment on the matter.
