Trump Complained that Jews are "Only In It For Themselves"

A Washington Post article reported that Donald Trump has made private antisemitic comments, such as saying that Jews are “only in it for themselves.” These private remarks are very much in line with public antisemitic comments Trump has made over the years, particularly Trump’s longstanding belief that Jews “stick together,” are primarily loyal to fellow Jews — and that this allegiance should extend to loyalty to the State of Israel. According to officials present at the time, Trump has also made racist comments about Black and Latino people — comments that, like his private antisemitic remarks, mirror his many public racist statements.

In 2017, Trump claimed that he was "the least antisemitic person you've ever seen in your entire life," and on multiple occasions he has claimed that "no one has done more for Black people” than he. The actions of Trump’s entire life, particularly during his time as a politician, say otherwise.

At the Republican Jewish Forum in 2015, Trump seemed to suggest that Jews buy off politicians. His final campaign advertisement in 2016 featured video of prominent Jewish figures like George Soros and Janet Yellen while a voice-over accused these figures of stripping the country of its wealth. While president, Trump has: included Nazis under the category of “very fine people”; released further campaign advertisements featuring, and sold campaign merchandise with, Nazi imagery; and refused to condemn white nationalist violence.
